Q: Do you provide hibachi catering throughout New Jersey?

A: Yes. Umami Hibachi provides private hibachi catering for homes, backyards, vacation rentals, and special events throughout New Jersey. We regularly serve North Jersey, Central Jersey, South Jersey, and the Jersey Shore, including Bergen, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Burlington, Camden, Atlantic, and Cape May County.

 

Q: How much does a hibachi party cost in New Jersey?

A: Our standard hibachi experience starts at $50 per adult and $30 per child age 13 and under. Each guest receives two protein choices, fried rice, vegetables, and salad. Premium proteins such as filet mignon, scallops, and lobster are available for an additional charge.

 

Q: Is there a minimum booking amount?

A: Yes. Our standard minimum food order is $500 per event. Travel fees and tax are calculated separately based on the event location.

 

Q: Is there a travel fee for New Jersey parties?

A: Travel fees depend on the event location and distance from our service area. Parties closer to Jersey City generally have lower travel fees, while Jersey Shore and South Jersey locations may have a higher travel charge.

 

Q: What do guests need to provide for a backyard hibachi party?

A: Guests provide tables, chairs, plates, forks, napkins, and drinks for their party. Our hibachi chef brings the grill, cooking equipment, ingredients, sauces, and everything needed to prepare the meal.

 

Q: Can you cook indoors?

A: Yes, indoor hibachi may be possible when the space has proper ventilation and enough room for the cooking setup. We can also cook outdoors, in a backyard, covered patio, or garage when weather conditions require it.

 

Q: How early does the hibachi chef arrive?

A: Our chef normally arrives about 20–30 minutes before the scheduled start time to set up the grill and prepare for your event.

 

Q: How long does the hibachi experience last?

A: Most hibachi parties include approximately 1 to 1.5 hours of cooking, dining, entertainment, and interaction with the chef, depending on the group size.

 

Q: Do you accommodate food allergies or special diets?

A: Yes. Please let us know about allergies or dietary restrictions before the event. We can accommodate many requests, including gluten-free soy sauce and certain seafood or protein restrictions. Separate preparation may be used when necessary.

 

Q: Is gratuity included?A: Gratuity is not included.

A 20% gratuity is recommended for your hibachi chef and goes directly to the chef.
